Perennial Natural Grass for Cattle

Simply put, the process of feeding grain to cattle is unnatural. Cattle have not ever been known to consume grain in nature. All of our present day breeds of cattle have been derived from cows raised solely on the consumption of perennial natural grass in open pastures, not from cows fed man-made, commercially manufactured grains while penned in cages.

Grass-Fed - No Hormones, No Antibiotics
The grass-fed cow is never exposed to added hormones or antibiotics that are known to produce resistant strains of bacteria that can be passed to humans. Hormones are used in grain-fed cattle because their artificial diet is lacking the nutrients that can be found in perennial grass. Because of this lack of nutrition, the cows develop strains of contagious bacterial disease such as e-coli. Therefore, they must be given antibiotics to suppress these diseases so that the humans that consume the beef are not contaminated. Studies have shown that e-coli and similar diseases cannot survive in grass-fed cattle.

Grain-Fed - Lack of Nutritional Value
Synthetic grains comprise a diet that is high in fat, low in substance and almost lacking nutrition entirely. Corn and grain feeds offer a diet that is high in omega 6s and low in omega 3s. This imbalance is known to cause health problems ranging from autoimmune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, diabetes type 1, etc) to mental disorders including depression and even ADD/ADHD. Grass is lower in calories and fat, higher in vitamins, minerals, omega-3s, and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), which are all important factors in maintaining healthy, happy cows.

For the health-conscious beef eater, it is important to understand that perennial natural grass for cattle is the only way a cow should be fed. Not only does it benefit the over-all health of each cow and prevent them from suffering any undue stress caused by poor diet, it is also beneficial for the consumer. You will not have to worry about getting “too much fat” from eating beef since grass-fed cattle is high in the “good fats” your body needs and low in the “bad fats”.
